The Eleggant Egg specializes in carving genuine egg shells, turning them into beautiful and unique works of art. Both goose and emu eggs are used in our creations. The picture to the right shows a carved goose egg.

Each egg is emptied and sterilized before carving. The entire process of creating an egg can take many hours, depending on the type of egg being carved and the complexity of the design. Designs range from delicate lace in appearance, such as the example on the right, to replications of corporate logos such as the one below. One of our eggs, with Tony Danza's television program's logo and date of his first show was featured on Mr. Danza's nationally syndicated talk show.

Another egg, with the logo of the HSBC Bank, resides in a branch office in Endicott, NY, housed in a glass globe.

Our standard egg designs include holiday, geometric, animal and floral motifs. Custom orders for initials, names, corporate logos or other designs are always welcome. Eggs can be made to sit on a stand or hang from a decorative holder or Christmas tree branch. Carved eggs make unique gifts for yourself, that special someone in your life, friends, family members or business clients and will add a touch of elegance to any decor.

Our eggs have been sent all over the United States and are proudly displayed in our customer's homes. They are sold in stores in New York City, Brackney, PA and the Greater Binghamton area of the Southern Tier of New York and directly from us.

We are Jan & Geoff Strauss, the proud owners of the Eleggant Egg. Geoff has been a woodworker for over 40 years and our egg carving began at a wood working show. We were watching a demonstration of a high speed wood carving tool, much like a dentist drill. During our conversation with the sales person, he mentioned that the tool could be used to carve eggs. We were intrigued with the notion of carving eggs so we purchased the drill, began carving goose eggs and the Eleggant Egg was born.

And elegant are what our eggs are. Each hand-carved egg is unique—no two are exactly the same. Their individuality and beauty adds a "touch of class" to any decor and are obvious conversation pieces.
